we set up the bassinet. the same one we used for the little girl, just a pack and play with a small napper that goes on top. we put it in the same place in our bedroom.
he leaned over the edge and looked down at the napper and said, “I can’t wait for it to be full of baby!”
“kittigy” when she’s talking about her kitties.
“comin’ nana!”when we’re in the car on our way to grandma’s house.
“side!” when she’s talking about inside or outside, whichever side she isn’t on.
We pulled out all her stuffed animals and my favorite thing is to see the pairs of stuffed animals she picks to play with. donkey and little unicorn have been paired up recently. the little girl has a game where donkey and little unicorn go on a journey up a mountain (a plant stand in the kitchen) and eat the leaves of my houseplants. up up! she says as they climb. down down! she says as they descend. it’s a great game to watch.
I have already turned in all our library books. you can come any time.
my favorite thing in my entire history of favorite things is opening the window in the morning and smelling the cold early spring air.
Today is the peter cat’s birthday. I told him he was six years old and he was very surprised.
the little girl learned the word “yuck” last night and now everything is “yuck,” even chocolate and cherry cordial ice cream. today is “yuck” and pink lemonade dribbling out of her mouth and all over her shirt. it’s about the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life. yuck, yuck, yuck.
today we were happy.
today she dipped a bubble wand in a bottle of bubble mix and blew bubbles by herself for the first time. afterward she danced around in her cloud of bubbles saying, Happy, happy.
today I watched the little girl and her daddy crawl around on the floor pretending to be dinosaurs and she laughed and laughed and we were all happy.
The way she wrinkles her nose when she laughs really hard.
